Solar Flare – 8×10 (Recycled Earth Collection)

Description

This is part of a new collection called Recycled Earth. These pieces feature recycled paint from my studio, heavy texture and various odds and ends that speak to my magpie nature. I try to reuse as many materials in my studio as possible, down to collecting dried paints. These steps towards creating a closed loop studio challenge me to become a better artist.

Solar Flare uses reclaimed canvas and recycled paint to explore the idea of decay: life reaching the end of its cycle, impending dormancy and a renewal after a time of hibernation. This piece is 8″ x 10″ with extra-thick texture and a matte finish.
