This sweet little amulet is made from a foraged laurel oak tree twig and features accents of a raw herkimer diamond and faceted dendritic opal. Minis are my new favorite size to paint. It allows me to try out new techniques and pack a big impact in a tiny package. This abstract mini is part of a new collection called Recycled Earth. These pieces feature recycled paint from my studio, heavy texture and various odds and ends that speak to my magpie nature. I try to reused as many materials in my studio as possible, down to collecting dried paints. These steps towards creating a closed loop studio challenge me to become a better artist. Recycled Air is a small slice of landscape reflecting the impact of humans upon nature. Imagine the slice of green in a parking lot, with little crinkles of foil sparkling amongst the leaves. Nature will always find a way. Minis will not be offered as prints, so catch them while they last.
